After years of contemplating a cross country bicycle ride the time has finally come. Accompanied by Pete Sykes, I finally get a chance to ride across the country. After another summer and fall of employment on Star Island it seems like this interim period before I get another job seems like a perfect time to do a cross country trip. This blog starts somewhat late in the process of planning. We leave on November 2nd from Jacksonville, Florida and will arrive sometime late December early January in San Diego, California. I believe we are mostly ready to go equipped with the following:
-cannondale touring bikes
-helmets
-sleeping bags
-lots of spandex
-but'r --yes butt butter for those long and painful hours on the road
Well. You get the point. We leave soon and we are ready. More to come soon. I am new to the blogging world. Please be patient.

from Annaliese's mom: you plan to arrive sometime late December / early JUNE ?? (I know what you meant) Have a great trip and stay safe! Watch out for the rattlesnakes and other fauna you're bound to encounter and bring pepper spray for emergencies even if you think you're opposed to that sort of thing...(What good's a mom if she doesn't give unending advice??
